Heraldic Jewellery – Proudly brought in war and peace

heraldic jewelry was worn with great pride and dignity for more thousand years. During the nobles of long ago but fascinating Middle Ages and knights who were about to go into battle would adorn their armor and shields with their heraldic coats of arms or badge. Their use of graphic devices heraldric thus served a very practical, and indeed, the essential purpose during the heat of battle: the rapid identification and easily with friends and enemies. Without using some type of highly visible chart would be very difficult for a warrior to identify his allies and enemies even at close range, as their faces were always hidden under helmets armor. Similarly heraldic devices were used for identification purposes during the Medieval tournaments and jousts.

The development of heraldic jewelry was a natural offshoot and predictable, the use of heraldric as a means of identification in the war. Even in peacetime, many knights and nobles soon began to decorate some of their other possessions with their devices or badges, including personal jewelry such as rings and cuffs. Although the evolution of the jewel heraldric probably occurred as a result of personal vanity or pride, had its practical purposes.

Although now primarily (and rightly) thought as stunning pieces of jewelry and their own specific types of heraldric jewelry were created for practical reasons. For example, a seal ring during the Middle Ages for noble was engraved with the coat of arms of the case or coat-of-arms on the surface of the upper ring. The image was designed in reverse (like a mirror-image), so that when the top of the cylinder was pressed into hot wax that had dripped on the closure of a letter or document, has created a wax image of the crest or coat of arms. When fully cooled, the image of wax paper sealed closed and then offered more privacy. And since the rightful owner of the signet ring was the alleged sender of the letter or the document, a document sealed with a signet ring bearing the crest or heraldic coat-of-arms serve to identify the author and assured the authenticity of the document.

Today Heraldric jewelry – always beautiful, sometimes with a purpose.

Although the need to ensure the authenticity in this way is long gone, some people still use the seal rings to identify today. People who use the seal rings to seal documents, together with those who wear just like jewelry heraldic heraldic appreciate their rings as a link symbolic of their past and their family history.

In countries where the noble class still exists, heraldic jewelry can also be a status symbol, which serves as an identifier immediate level of the wearer in society.Even today, a nice piece of heraldic jewelry is a unique gift appropriate for a man or a woman of high achievement or high social status.

Signet rings, seals, badges and pins, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, cuff-style bracelets, tie pins / CT and keyrings – all can be decorated with beautifully engraved or etched emblems, shields or coats-of-arms. They are often made of precious metals like gold, silver or platinum. high quality pieces feature a beautiful design with intricate detail, so as light colors, it was also enamel or precious stones.

Although often worn strictly for its beauty, jewelry, heraldry has become extremely popular not only because of its appearance, but also a sense of history and pageantry of the medieval world it evokes. Colorful, elegant jewelry is perfect for the commemoration of arms a significant event in the life of a person, as a degree or the coming of age – the "coming of age." When he presented to the recipient in report of such an event, heraldic jewelry infuses the donor and the recipient a sense of history and heritage of the family to continue. But do not forget, do not need to be a purpose behind wearing jewelry heraldric. Although based in history, is beautiful in itself and can be worn with great pride and dignity today, just as it was one thousand years ago.
